For their first session of the year I set Mulberry class the challenge of building a lighting a fire. I was impressed with the skills they had remembered from last year. We understood where we went wrong and what we did well. Mulberry class were very excited when I informed them we would be progressing on to using tools and making toasting forks next!
Today Butterfly class had Forest school for the first time. We all chose a Forest school name and started to learn about the rules to keep us safe. We played some games to reinforce that we don’t walk in the sit-upon circle and finished with a game of hide and seek.
Skylarks had beautiful weather for the first session of forest school this year. I was very impressed with how many rules they had remembered. We spoke about how to use bug pots and magnifying glasses and the importance of looking after them.
The nursery children brought a friend to meet Barry this week! They brought Bella the badger with them. Barry and Bella had a lovely time climbing trees and playing together.
Barry is going to join Miss Pulham and her family for Christmas. Keep checking the webpage for updates!
Today the nursery children have been toasting marshmallows, looking at the photos I think they enjoyed them!
Red class spent lots of time making things using knots.
