Science Museum Visit

Friday, November 24th, 2017

On Tuesday, all of KS2 visited the Science Museum in London. The children all arrived at school ready to leave at 7am – an early start! The children were excited and all came prepared with activities to enjoy together on the coach.

When we arrived at the services, the children began to think about what they would be eating later!

As we arrived in London the children were excited to see many of the landmarks they’ve learnt about and heard about. We saw: the London Eye, The Shard, The Gherkin, Big Ben, The Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, Tower Bridge and many more great landmarks!

We arrived at the Science Museum and each class went off to enjoy a range of exhibitions within the museum. Some favourites included exploring space and transport through time.  After lunch the children were able to visit the WonderLab where they experienced some hands on activities linked to friction, electricity, space and many more. We then enjoyed a Science Show all about explosions. Miss King was volunteered and had to hold a piece of flash paper that was lit in her hand. A couple of children were also very brave volunteers to other activities.

As the day was coming to an end the children were able to spend their money in the gift shop before we left to return to school. At the services children were able to choose what they ate for their evening meal, with many children choosing KFC or Burger King!

Well done to all of KS2 for being such excellent ambassadors of Alderman Swindell Primary School.
